Optics and image sensor

The 4mm fixed lens combined with a 1/2.8" format CMOS sensor offers a compromise between wide area coverage and high level of detail, suitable for general surveillance scenes both indoors and outdoors. The native resolution of 5 MP allows the recording of precise images that can be used for the identification of people or objects at moderate distances while maintaining good readability at the edges of the image.

Field of view and framing

The horizontal field of view of 85° and vertical field of view of 46°, with a diagonal angle of 110°, guarantees wide coverage with a reduced number of cameras for the same area to be monitored. This optical geometry facilitates installation in corridors, halls or parking lots while limiting blind spots. The 0° or 180° image rotation function makes it easy to adjust the scene orientation when mounting inverted to the ceiling or under an overhang, without having to change the mechanical mounting.

Low-light performance

The camera incorporates white and infrared LED illumination each with a range of up to 15 m, ensuring optimal visibility at night or in dimly lit environments. The white illumination allows colours to be reproduced in the dark, while the IR LEDs ensure increased discretion in black and white mode. True WDR technology provides advanced handling of high-dynamic scenes, such as backlit or large light variations, to maintain a consistent level of detail in both dark and bright areas.

Video compression and frame rate

Support for the H.265 and H.264 codecs helps optimize bandwidth and storage space utilization while maintaining high image quality. Depending on the requirements, the installer can prioritize compatibility with existing systems or reduce throughput as much as possible with H.265. The camera delivers a video stream of up to 25 frames per second, ensuring smooth movement reproduction, suitable for monitoring passageways, entrances or workstations.

Built-in audio

The built-in digital microphone captures audio in addition to video, providing a better understanding of the events being monitored. This feature allows important sound cues such as conversations, impact noises or alarms to be recorded, and facilitates post-incident analysis as well as audio doubt removal in remote monitoring or remote control systems.

Local storage

The presence of a microSD card slot, compatible with up to 256 GB, allows continuous or event-triggered local recording, independent of the network or the remote recorder. This internal storage capacity enhances the system's resilience in the event of a connection failure, ensuring that critical footage is kept directly on the camera for later reference.

Intelligent video analytics

Embedded video analytics includes motion detection and AI object detection, allowing for more effective differentiation between relevant events and background disturbances. Intelligent algorithms reduce false alarms due to things like vegetation or lighting changes, and contribute to more targeted escalation of alerts to monitoring systems or client applications.

Network connectivity

The 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet network interface ensures a stable connection that is compatible with most existing IP infrastructures. This link allows for the transmission of video and audio streams, remote configuration, and integration with network recorders or video management platforms. Support for the classic Ethernet standard ensures flexible integration into corporate, industrial or residential LANs.

Power and energy consumption

The camera is compatible with PoE power according to 802.3at/af standards, which allows data and power to be carried through a single network cable, simplifying wiring and installation. The maximum PoE power consumption is up to 7.3 W, making it easy to plan the load on PoE switches. Alternatively, an external 12V DC power supply ± 20% can be used, with a maximum power consumption of 6.3W, providing flexibility in scenarios where PoE is not available.

Security and tamper protection

Built-in security mechanisms include the use of mTLS for secure communications, authentication via Ajax Cloud, Secure Boot as well as signature verification during OTA updates. These devices ensure the integrity of the firmware, prevent unauthorized software from being loaded, and protect against attempts to compromise the video stream or take control of the device. The camera is thus integrated into environments requiring a high level of cybersecurity, whether in professional or institutional settings.

Environmental resistance

The housing meets the IP65 rating, ensuring resistance to dust and splashing water, making the camera suitable for outdoor installations or in demanding indoor environments. The operating temperature range of -30°C to 60°C allows reliable use in harsh climates, in severe winter conditions as well as in periods of high heat. This robustness ensures continuity of service without the need for additional protection in most installation scenarios.
