Sensing Technology

This wireless curtain-type motion detector is based on a dual technology combining a passive infrared (PIR) sensor and a K-band microwave sensor. This combination allows for cross-analysis of detected motion, significantly reducing false alarms and improving reliability in demanding environments. The curtain mode creates a narrow and precise detection barrier, suitable for the linear protection of facades, bay windows, corridors or specific entrances, both indoors and outdoors.

Detection performance

The motion detection distance reaches up to 5 m, which effectively covers the areas to be protected located near openings or passages. The 15° horizontal sensing angle provides a tight beam for targeted control, while the 100° vertical sensing angle ensures optimized height coverage. The system integrates a nuisance trip prevention, by correlating the information from the two sensors and filtering out environmental disturbances, for a relevant detection of real intrusions.

Indoor and outdoor use

Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, the detector has an IP55 protection rating, guaranteeing resistance to dust and water splashes from all directions. Its operating temperature range of -25°C to 60°C ensures performance stability in a variety of climatic conditions, including intense cold, heat and rapid temperature variations. Built-in temperature compensation automatically adjusts detection algorithms to maintain consistent sensitivity despite thermal changes.

Animal immunity and reduction of false alarms

The detector incorporates immunity to pets up to a height of 100 cm, limiting triggers related to the movement of small and medium-sized animals on the ground. Combined with dual PIR and microwave technology and nuisance trip prevention features, this feature enables operation in busy residential or commercial environments, without multiplying irrelevant alarms.

Radio communication and range

Two-way radio communication provides a reliable exchange of information between the detector and the central system, allowing the monitoring of the device status, the transmission of alarms, as well as the rapid detection of communication losses. The product operates on multiple frequency bands: 866.0 to 866.5 MHz, 868.0 to 868.6 MHz, 868.7 to 869.2 MHz, 905.0 to 926.5 MHz, 915.85 to 926.5 MHz, and 921.0 to 922.0 MHz, allowing adaptation to different regional regulations. The radio signal range reaches up to 1,700 m in the open field, ensuring great flexibility of implementation, even on large sites, with a maximum effective radiated power of 20 mW.

Security and tamper protection

Communications security is enhanced by block encryption using a dynamic key, reducing the risk of interception or tampering with radio signals. An advanced tamper protection device protects the detector from attempts at physical neutralization, such as unauthorized opening or tearing off the media. The system also monitors the radio link and reports a loss of communication after 36 seconds, allowing for quick identification of any intentional or accidental outages.

Power supply and autonomy

The detector is powered by two CR123A batteries, a widely used solution in wireless security systems. This configuration ensures extended battery life, reducing the frequency of maintenance operations. The low power output and optimized two-way communication help to limit power consumption while maintaining high responsiveness in the event of motion or system event detection.

Mechanical characteristics and dimensions

The sensor has dimensions of 14.5 cm × 3.2 cm × 4.3 cm, allowing discreet integration on most supports, door jambs, window frames or facades. With its angular support, the dimensions increase to 14.5 cm × 4.4 cm × 5.4 cm, providing greater latitude of orientation to precisely adjust the axis of the detection curtain. The detector weighs 130 g, while the angular mount weighs 20 g, for a lightweight package that makes it easy to install on different types of surfaces, including those with limited mechanical stress.
