Ajax NVR 16(B) 16-Channel Video Surveillance Recorder, Secure Cloud, 16TB
This 16-channel network recorder model allows full camera synchronization to ensure temporal consistency of video streams, including when viewing archives. Designed as a secure cloud-based video management system, it centralizes the configuration, supervision and storage of streams from multiple IP cameras. Access to visual data remains under the control of the end user, who can define precisely which accounts are allowed to view live streams or recorded images. Granular account management provides real-time control over users' access to specific streams and photos to maximize data security and privacy.
The recorder supports IP cameras using the ONVIF (Profile S/T) or RTSP protocol, providing wide compatibility with most manufacturers on the market. The model supports up to 16 video channels, allowing medium-sized installations to be deployed while maintaining a centralized architecture. The lack of a POE port for powering the cameras requires the use of external POE switches or injectors, or a dedicated power supply for each camera, which provides flexibility in network design. The maximum supported resolution reaches 4K (25/30 FPS), ensuring high image quality for scenarios requiring high detail accuracy.
The device has a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive slot, with a maximum capacity of 16 TB, allowing a large volume of high-resolution video archives to be stored. The recorded data benefits from anti-tampering protection of the hard drive, ensuring the physical integrity of the storage media even in the event of an attempt to tamper with or disassemble it unauthorized. Enhanced protection of archives is implemented, combining access control and storage security mechanisms to limit the risk of loss, deletion or unauthorized access of records.
Account protection is enhanced by multiple layers of security, including passcode definition, biometrics, two-factor authentication, and fine-grained control of active sessions. Each connection to the video stream can be governed by strict authentication rules, limiting the risk of intrusion and fraudulent access. The end user retains complete control over the installation, the configuration of authorized accounts and the associated rights, whether for accessing live streams or for consulting archives or managing system settings. This system guarantees traceability and rigorous control of all operations carried out on the system.
The recorder incorporates a motion detector based on image analysis, allowing recordings or alerts to be triggered based on the activity detected in the cameras' field of view. It is possible to switch at any time between the internal motion detector of the NVR and the default motion detector integrated into the cameras, offering great flexibility of configuration according to the use scenario. This dual capability allows the processing load to be optimized and the detection logic to be adapted according to the cameras' capabilities and surveillance requirements, while reducing unnecessary recordings.
The device is equipped with a 100 Mbps Ethernet port for connecting to the local network and the Internet, ensuring the transport of video streams to the cloud and to client terminals. The lack of an HDMI port for live viewing from the recorder means that images are accessed via network interfaces, such as applications or client software. Video streams are encoded and decoded in H.264 and H.265 formats, reducing bandwidth and storage space while maintaining high image quality, especially at 4K resolutions.
The logger is powered by 220 Vac and has a power consumption of up to 24 W, providing an energy-efficient solution for 24-hour continuous operation. The housing meets IP20 rating, suitable for indoor environments protected against large solids, but not designed for exposure to water or fine dust. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C, which covers most tertiary or residential environments, as long as good ventilation and no excessive heat sources are maintained in the vicinity of the appliance.
With dimensions of 19.3 cm x 19.3 cm x 4.7 cm and a weight of 700 g, the recorder has a compact size, allowing discreet integration on a technical shelf, in a bay or in a communication cabinet. A tamper alarm is integrated to detect unauthorized opening of the housing or damage attempts, and can be linked to the overall alarm system. The hard drive tamper protection completes this device to ensure the physical security of the entire system.
The recorder is compatible with all Ajax control panels, facilitating its integration into a global security ecosystem combining video protection, intrusion detection and other connected devices. The facility is under the control of the end user, who can oversee the commissioning process, account creation, access rights, and configuration of monitoring scenarios. This compatibility and integration mode makes it possible to centralize the management of alarms, notifications and video recordings within the same platform.
