Ajax NVR 8(B) NVR Video Recorder 8 Channel 4K ON VIF RTSP 16TB
This video network recorder model is designed to handle up to 8 channels, allowing simultaneous support for up to eight IP cameras. It offers a maximum resolution of 4K at 25/30 frames per second, guaranteeing a very detailed reproduction of scenes, suitable for fine analysis and replay of critical events. The recorder has an internal 3.5-inch SATA hard drive slot, with a maximum capacity of 16TB, allowing for long-term video archiving, even in multi-camera and high-definition configurations. The cameras are fully synchronized, which facilitates the temporal correlation of recordings between the different channels during investigations.
The device is equipped with a 100 Mbps Ethernet port for connection to the local network and the cloud, ensuring reliable routing of video streams and control commands. There is no HDMI output for live viewing from the recorder itself, which directs use towards consultation via applications, software clients or web interfaces. The NVR does not have PoE ports, which means that the IP cameras must be powered by external PoE injectors, PoE switches, or dedicated power supplies, depending on the network architecture and installation constraints.
The recorder supports ONVIF-compatible IP cameras, S and T profiles, ensuring wide interoperability with many video surveillance device manufacturers. It is also compatible with RTSP streams, which makes it possible to integrate cameras and network encoders that support this standard. Video decoding is based on the H.264 and H.265 compression formats, making it possible to optimize the use of bandwidth and storage space while maintaining image quality adapted to professional requirements.
The protection of video archives is reinforced by anti-sabotage protection of the hard drive, limiting the risk of manipulation or physical destruction of the storage media. Access to the video stream is secured by multiple levels of control, including passcode, biometrics, two-factor authentication, and active session control. Account protection is enhanced to reduce the risk of unauthorized access or credential compromise. The end user retains control over their visual data, with the ability to control in real time which accounts are allowed to view specific feeds or photos, ensuring precise compartmentalization of access rights and increased traceability.
The system allows fine-grained management of authorized accounts and their permissions, offering the ability to limit access to certain streams or records to a select group of users. Viewing sessions can be monitored and controlled, to ensure that only expressly authorized persons have access to sensitive content. The installation itself is carried out under the control of the end user, who can define the security policy, authentication settings and configuration of access rights as soon as the system is commissioned.
The recorder incorporates a motion detector that directly analyzes the image, making it possible to generate triggered events and recordings without relying exclusively on the intelligence embedded in the cameras. It is possible to switch between the NVR's internal motion detector and that of the default camera, providing flexibility in managing detection according to operational needs, desired accuracy, and the capabilities of each camera. This approach optimizes storage and bandwidth consumption by adapting recording scenarios to truly significant movements.
The video management system is designed to work with a secure cloud infrastructure, facilitating remote access to live streams and archives from authorized endpoints. Communications and authentication are organized in such a way as to maintain a high level of visual data privacy, while ensuring high availability for operators and administrators. The use of the cloud allows for centralized monitoring, simplified update management, and remote administration of recorder settings and user accounts.
The device is powered by 220 Vac, which allows direct integration into most standard electrical installations. Its maximum consumption is 24 W, which makes it a low-energy equipment for an 8-channel recorder, facilitating its integration into technical racks or rooms where heat dissipation must be limited. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C, suitable for indoor use in controlled environments. The IP20 degree of protection confirms its use indoors, protected from excessive dust and exposure to water.
With dimensions of 19.3 cm by 19.3 cm and a height of 4.7 cm, the recorder has a small footprint, making it easy to integrate on a technical shelf, in a closed cabinet or in a communication box. Its weight of 700 g allows for simple installation, even when mounting on walls or in environments where the load must be limited. The built-in tamper alarm contributes to the physical security of the device by signaling any unauthorized opening or movement attempts, which is especially important when the recorder is placed in an accessible room.
The logger is fully compatible with all Ajax control panels, allowing it to be integrated into a broader security ecosystem combining intrusion, video surveillance and automation. This compatibility facilitates the correlation between events detected by Ajax sensors and associated video recordings, simplifying operational operation and visual doubt removal. The architecture thus constituted ensures centralized security management while maintaining a clear separation between the intrusion alarm part and the video part.
